Bank of Ireland appoints James Magill as Chief People Officer
James joins from Vodafone, where he most recently served as Human Resources Director for Vodafone EU Markets and Group Commercial, with responsibility for people, organisation and culture strategies across multiple European markets and more than 40,000 colleagues.
James has held a number of senior leadership roles at Vodafone and Accenture across Ireland, the UK, Europe and New Zealand. During this time, he led large-scale people and organisational transformation programmes, HR digitalisation, talent and leadership development, employee experience initiatives and organisational effectiveness strategies, supporting businesses through significant growth, change and transformation.
Commenting on the appointment, Myles O’Grady, Group Chief Executive, Bank of Ireland said: “We are delighted to welcome James Magill as Chief People Officer. James will play a leading role in shaping the people and culture agenda that enables the delivery of our strategy across the Group. His experience and leadership will be particularly important as we evolve and simplify as an organisation, while continuing to build an inclusive, high-performing culture where colleagues can do their best work and thrive.”
James will start the role in November, joining Bank of Ireland’s Group Executive Committee.
