BANK OF IRELAND TO PROVIDE FREE SUPPORT FOR SMALL BUSINESSES USING TWITTER

  • Bank of Ireland and Twitter announce official partnership
  • The partnership will provide small businesses across the country with education and supports to help them succeed with Twitter for business

Thursday 21st November: Bank of Ireland has teamed up with Twitter as the Official Twitter Partner for Irish Small Business. The Bank will provide educational content, marketing tips and best practice advice, developed in partnership with Twitter, to help SMEs grow online. The service is not limited to Bank of Ireland customers and small businesses can follow @BOIbusiness on Twitter or go to bankofireland.com/twitter for more information. The announcement was made today at a Twitter workshop attended by 13 small Irish businesses that are using Twitter to realise business growth.

Speaking at the announcement, Gerry Prizeman, Head of Small Business & Agri, Bank of Ireland said:

Bank of Ireland is committed to supporting Irish enterprise as the economic environment continues to improve – both by making credit available and by providing relevant supports to businesses to build momentum into 2014. Our partnership with Twitter is such a support, and will enable us to provide small businesses with the expertise to make the most of Twitter as a marketing platform. Through the provision of free education and training, dedicated events and how-to guides, Bank of Ireland is providing practical support to the domestic small business sector.”

Barry Collins, Director of SMB EMEA at Twitter added:
Businesses around the world are using Twitter to connect with their customers and reach new ones. We are excited to be working with Bank of Ireland to help small and medium businesses in Ireland effectively market themselves on Twitter, using both our free platform and our newly launched self-service advertising products.”

Last week Twitter announced that it had opened self-service advertising to all businesses in Ireland, Canada and the UK, as well as the US.
