Bank of Ireland announces nomination to Board of Directors

The Directors of Bank of Ireland have proposed the appointment of Davida Marston for election as a non-executive Director to the Court at the Annual General Meeting on 24 April 2013.  Subject to election, her appointment to the Board will take effect immediately.

Based in the UK, Davida is a non-executive director of Liberbank S.A., Mears Plc (UK), where she chairs the Audit Committee and CIT Bank Limited.  Previous directorships include ACE European Group Limited and Europe Arab Bank Plc.

Ms. Marston was a member of Citigroup UK’s senior management team, retiring in 2003.  Senior positions held there include Regional Head UK & Ireland for the Banks and Securities business and a senior management team member of the Corporate Bank.  She was also a senior manager at the Bank of Montreal, based both in Toronto and London.

Commenting on the appointment the Chairman, Archie Kane said:  I am delighted that a Director of Davida’s calibre and international experience has agreed to serve on the Board of the Bank.  I am confident that she will make a significant contribution over the coming years”.

Subject to her election, Davida will be joining the Risk and Audit Committees.
