Bank of Ireland Appointment

Bank of Ireland today (Friday 8th February) announced the promotion of Joe Larkin to the newly created senior role of Head of Group Customer Operations. This new role, which will be part of the Group’s Manufacturing Division, brings together the Group’s Customer Contact, Credit Operations and much of the Banking Operations functions into a single focused unit. Integrating these activities into one unit will bring a singular focus in relation to customer facing activity within the Group and will be a key support to Bank of Ireland achieving its strategic objectives. This is a significant step in the creation of a fully integrated bank.

Joe Larkin will take up his new appointment on 1st April. He is currently Director – Personal Lending with Bank of Ireland with responsibility in the retail business in Ireland for all personal lending including the Mortgage Business, credit cards, personal loans and general insurance. A successor will be appointed to this position in advance of Joe taking up his new role.

Joe Larkin joined the Bank of Ireland Group in 1974 and has an extensive range of banking experience having held a number of senior positions in the Group including Area Manager East and Retail Transformation Director. Prior to his current position he was Managing Director, Bank of Ireland Mortgages and ICS Building Society. He is also a former Chairman of the Irish Mortgage Council, the representative body for Irish mortgage lenders. Ends
