Could the Cross Border Payments message differ from the amount on my final statement?
Yes, in certain cases. Due to the way some transactions are processed, the total amount in the cross-border payments message may not match the amount taken out of your account. The amount debited from your account will always be accurate on your final statement.
The total transaction amount in the message might be different from the amount taken out of your account if:
- The time between the date of your transaction and the date of when it is debited from your account is greater than 8 days.
- You use your card in a hotel, for car hire or for airline tickets.
