Closing an account used to pay a loan or mortgage
If you close your account that is connected to a loan or mortgage payment, you must ensure your future payments are paid from another account. To do this, you will need to re-direct your direct debit or standing order instructions to an alternative account.
Please contact the lending bank to arrange this.
Remember:You should cancel all standing orders and/or direct debits before submitting the close account request. Once the form to close your account has been processed, no more standing order and/or direct debit payments or card transactions will be paid from the account.
