How do I cancel a subscription on my Card?

Make sure it is a subscription paid with your card and not a direct debit or a standing order.

If you’re not sure about this, our payments tool can help.

To cancel any future payments for a subscription on your Debit Card or Credit Card, you need to contact the service provider or company you are paying the subscription to. After that, you need to contact us to cancel it on your card.

Step One

Contact the service provider or company you are paying.

The first step is to contact the company/subscription service directly to follow their cancellation process.

Ask when the final payment was/will be taken. Keep any emails or SMS messages that confirm the subscription is cancelled.

Step Two

Cancel the subscription with Bank of Ireland.

You can cancel a subscription on your debit or credit card online by filling in our Cancel Recurring Card Payment form.

You can also ask us to cancel a subscription, using 365 online. Look for the online Service Desk Ask a Question feature or by calling our customer services line.

The options are set out for you below:

  • 365 online
    1. Select your Credit Card or current account from account drop down options.
    2. In subject line type 'Cancel Subscription'
    3. Your message should include:
      • The company name and name of shop or retailer as it appears on your bill.
      • The date and amount of last payment.
      • The date when you asked the company or service provider to cancel or the date they said it was cancelled.
