Using your cards for subscriptions

You are able to use your Debit Card or Credit Card to make regular payments to a subscription service. By subscribing to a paid service or product you allow the retailer to have a 'continuous authority' to take payments from your card. This is an agreement you make with a retailer.

You should only give your card details to a retailer you trust.

Before you give any card information you should be aware of the terms and conditions of the agreement with the retailer or subscription service such as:

  • Length of time of the subscription and if there is a minimum term
  • If the amount of the subscription increases over time, this can occur when:
    • a free trial period expires.
    • the initial offer period ends. The price for some year long subscription services, for example, can be lower in the first month(s) then full price for the remaining period.

Should you wish to cancel a subscription on your debit or credit card you can complete our Cancel Recurring Card Payment form online.
