How much can I transfer online?

The maximum limit you can transfer is €20,000 / £20,000 per working day. Payee types: Bill, SEPA, UK Domestic (UK only), International payments, mobile top-ups (ROI only) and pay to mobile payments. Payee limits will apply.

Future dated payments will affect maximum limit on date scheduled. Own account transfers and automated payments will not affect your daily limits. Need to transfer more? Contact your branch for other options.

What are payee limits?

When you add a payee you must choose either Post security code, Mobile phone (SMS) security code, or Secure Customer Authentication (New Bank of Ireland App only). Your choice will affect your total payee limit for each payee type.

You can use your payee limit to send money to just one payee, or several payees of the same payee type.

Your daily limits will reduce each time you make a payment:

  • Online using 365 online, Mobile Banking app, Tablet Banking app, and the New BOI app.
  • By phone using self-service phone banking or with a Direct Advisor.
  • Using Open Banking PISP consent portal (API)

You can use 365 online to make transfers to your existing payees, set up using security codes, as well as any new payees set up with the Bank of Ireland App using Strong Customer Authentication. Payee limits will apply as below:
