If I am having problems making a payment?

There could be a number of reasons for this:

  • There may not be enough money in the account or no available credit limit to make the transaction.
  • The payment you need to make is over €50. Some merchants may not support Apple Pay transactions over €50 on their terminals.
  • The merchant does not accept Contactless payments. Not all retailers accept Contactless payments yet. Please use another way to pay like your debit or credit card with Chip and PIN.
  • If you do any of the following on your device, all cards in the Wallet will be deleted:

Signing out of iCloud

  • Removes all Apple Pay cards from the device.

Turning off Face ID/Touch ID and Passcode

  • Disables Apple Pay and removes cards for security reasons.
  • iTunes Full Restore.

Erasing your device

  • All data, including Wallet cards, is deleted.
  • Removing the device from your Apple ID account.
  • This can happen via iCloud.com or another Apple device.

Marking the device as lost in 'Find My'

  • Apple Pay is suspended, and cards may be removed or disabled.

If you are having a problem, please use another way to pay like your physical debit or credit card with Chip and Pin.
