Can I set up a standing order online?

Yes. You can set up a new standing order on the Bank of Ireland App, 365 online or the Tablet Banking app. You can also view, manage and amend existing standing orders on current and demand deposit accounts.

Please note

New standing orders can only be set up on a current account and to a payee whose account is in the same jurisdiction as yours.

That is, both accounts must be in the Republic of Ireland or both in the United Kingdom.

  1. Log in to 365 online.
  2. Tap 'Manage Accounts'.
  3. Select 'Manage Standing Orders'.
  4. Select your account.
  5. Tap 'Setup standing order'
  6. Choose a security code delivery method and tap 'Continue'.
  7. Enter the payee details, choose the amount and frequency and tap 'Continue'.
  8. Choose a start date (monthly or yearly only). Use the format 'DD/MM/YYYY'.
  9. Activate it using the 7-digit security code sent by text or post.

  10. Choose a start date. Use the format 'DD/MM/YYYY'.

Once you have successfully activated your standing order, it will not be visible in your list of standing orders until the next working day.

Business Customers:

The easiest way to set up (max €3000), amend, or cancel a standing order is to use 365online.

You can also cancel a standing order online here (recipient's IBAN needed).

You can also set up amend or cancel a standing order here and post the signed form into us (recipient's IBAN needed).

This service is not available on the Mobile Banking app. It is only available on the new Bank of Ireland App,365 online or the Tablet Banking app.
  1. Log in to your account on the Tablet Banking app.
  2. Tap 'Manage Payees'.
  3. Select 'Standing Orders' from the drop-down list.
  4. Select an account.
  5. Tap 'Setup standing order'
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  7. Enter the 7-digit activation code sent by text or post.

Business Customers:

  3. Select 'Standing orders'.
  4. Choose 'Set up a new standing order'.
  5. Select an account you want to pay from.
  6. Enter the payee details, amount, frequency of payment and the start date, and tap 'Continue'.
  7. Review the details and tap 'Confirm'.
  8. Enter the 3 requested digits of your 6-digit 365 PIN.
  9. Swipe to approve.

Once you have successfully added and authenticated your standing order, it will not be visible in your list of standing orders until the next working day.
