How do I amend or cancel a standing order online?

You can use the Bank of Ireland App, 365 online, or the Tablet Banking app to make the following amendments to standing orders:

  • Change the amount
  • Put on hold
  • Remove a hold
  • Cancel
  1. Log in to 365 online.
  2. Tap 'Manage Accounts'.
  3. Select 'Manage Standing orders'.
  4. Choose an account and tap 'Go'.
  5. Select a standing order and tap 'Amend' or 'Cancel' and follow the on-screen instructions.

Allow one working day for any cancellation or amendments (excludes bank and public Holidays) to come into effect. Amendments will not appear in your list of standing orders until the next working day.

Please note

If you're unable to select a standing order, it may be a loan repayment. You cannot amend loan repayments online. Contact us if you need to discuss a loan repayment.

Business Customers: The easiest way to set up (max €3000), amend, or cancel a standing order is to use 365 Online because it allows you to select the correct standing order to be cancelled. You can also set up (no max amount), amend cancel a standing order online here, however doing it this way means you need to know the recipient's IBAN so we can identify which standing order to cancel and this form needs to be signed and posted in.

You cannot amend or cancel a standing order using the Mobile Banking app. This service is only available on the new Bank of Ireland App, 365 online , and the Tablet Banking app.

  1. Log in to your account on the Tablet Banking app.
  2. Tap 'Manage Payees'.
  3. Select 'Standing Orders' from the drop-down list.
  4. Choose a standing order.
  5. Tap 'Amend' or 'Cancel' and follow the on-screen instructions.

Allow one working day for any cancellation or amendments (excludes bank and public Holidays) to come into effect. Amendments will not appear in your list of standing orders until the next working day.

  3. Select 'Standing Orders'.
  4. Choose an account from the drop-down list.
  5. Tap 'Manage'.
  6. Choose to what you want to do:
    • Change amount
    • Put on hold/Remove hold
    • Cancel
  7. Follow the on-screen steps. If you are amending the amount or placing/removing a hold, you'll be asked enter your 365 PIN and swipe to approve the activity.

Allow one working day for any cancellation or amendments (excludes bank and public Holidays) to come into effect. Amendments will not appear in your list of standing orders until the next working day.
