How do I amend or cancel a standing order online?

You can use the Upgraded Bank of Ireland App, 365 online, or the Tablet Banking app to make the following amendments to standing orders:

  • Change the amount
  • Put on hold
  • Remove a hold
  • Cancel

  1. Log in to 365 online.
  2. Tap 'Manage Accounts'.
  3. Select 'Manage Standing orders'.
  4. Choose an account and tap 'Go'.
  5. Select a standing order and tap 'Amend' or 'Cancel' and follow the on-screen instructions.

Allow one working day for any cancellation or amendments (excludes bank and public Holidays) to come into effect. Amendments will not appear in your list of standing orders until the next working day.

Please note

If you're unable to select a standing order, it may be a loan repayment. You cannot amend loan repayments online. Contact us if you need to discuss a loan repayment.

Business Customers:

The easiest way to set up (max €3000), amend, or cancel a standing order is to use 365online.

You can also cancel a standing order online here (recipient's IBAN needed).

You can also set up amend or cancel a standing order here and post the signed form into us (recipient's IBAN needed).

You cannot amend or cancel a standing order using the old Mobile Banking app. This service is only available on the new Upgraded Bank of Ireland App, 365 online , and the Tablet Banking app.

  1. Log in to your account on the Tablet Banking app.
  2. Tap 'Manage Payees'.
  3. Select 'Standing Orders' from the drop-down list.
  4. Choose a standing order.
  5. Tap 'Amend' or 'Cancel' and follow the on-screen instructions.

Allow one working day for any cancellation or amendments (excludes bank and public Holidays) to come into effect. Amendments will not appear in your list of standing orders until the next working day.

If you're unable to select a standing order, it may be a loan repayment. You cannot amend loan repayments online. Contact us if you need to discuss a loan repayment.

  4. Choose an account from the drop-down list.
  5. Tap 'Manage'.
  6. Choose to what you want to do:
    • Change amount

    • Cancel
  7. Follow the on-screen steps. If you are amending the amount or placing/removing a hold, you'll be asked enter 3 digits of your 365 PIN and swipe to approve your request.

Allow one working day for any cancellation or amendments (excludes bank and public Holidays) to come into effect. Amendments will not appear in your list of standing orders until the next working day.

  7. Follow the on-screen steps. If you are amending the amount or placing/removing a hold, you'll be asked enter 3 digits of your 365 PIN
  8. A notification will be sent to the security device quoted on screen.

    On your Security device – Smart device

  9. Tap the notification on your security device to open authentication screen – you will not be asked to log into your security device
  10. Swipe to accept. - The notification will disappear from your device automatically or you can tap ‘Done’
