Why does the Bank of Ireland app ask for access to my phone’s location?

When you allow us to access your phone’s location we can help you find your nearest ATM/Branch or offer tips when you’re abroad.

We recommend allowing the app to access your location when setting up the new Bank of Ireland app

  • When you allow us to access your location and set up the new app all Location Services will be available when you log in for the first time.
  • When you do not allow us to access your location and set up the new app Location Services will not be available.
  • You can change the app permission at any time using your phone's settings*.
