What are Security Codes used for on 365 online?
Security codes allow you to carry out banking activities securely on 365 online, the Mobile Banking app (ROI only) and the Tablet Banking app. For example, adding a payee. Security codes are not required for Upgraded Bank of Ireland app or Upgraded 365 online.

There are several instances where you will receive a security code when using 365 online:
- Adding a payee (Bill, SEPA or International). You'll receive the security code by text or post.
- Setting up a standing order. You'll receive the security code by text or post.
- Changing your address. You'll receive the security code by text.
- Registering your mobile phone number. You'll receive the security code by post.

Strong Customer Authentication(SCA) has replaced security codes on the Upgraded 365 online. To authenticate your request you must have an active security device
- Any smartphone or tablet you have completed registration of the Upgraded Bank of Ireland app and enabled notifications on that device.
