Activate a payee on 365 online

Strong Customer authentication (SCA) has replaced security codes on the Bank of Ireland App and 365 online.

To authenticate your request you must have an active security device or Physical security key.

You can use the Bank of Ireland App or 365 online to add a payee using Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), you can send money to your payee immediately without the need to activate them separately.

I have the security code

If you already have a security code, or are waiting to receive a security code, you can still use the Bank of Ireland App to add the payee immediately. Follow the steps below to do this:

  1. Log in to your account on the new Bank of Ireland App.
  2. Take note of the inactive payee details.
  3. Delete the inactive payee.
  4. Add the payee again using the Upgraded Bank of Ireland app. For steps click here

You are not able to enter a security code in the Bank of Ireland app or 365 online. If you need further assistance with your payee call our Online and phone banking team
