CardController service to help Business Customers manage Employee Credit Card Spending
Bank of Ireland has launched its new Business Credit Card, in partnership with MasterCard. As part of the announcement, the bank has revealed details of its new CardController service, designed to provide businesses with more control over employee credit card expenditure.
Bank of Ireland’s CardController provides customers with a number of unique settings to monitor employee credit cards giving business owners the ability to:
- Block certain types of transactions such as online, international or ATM transactions
- Limit the use of the credit card to specific merchant groups such as travel or business services
- Curtail card spending times to certain timeframes, e.g. Monday to Friday.
- Create real time alerts of spend.
There is no charge to customers for using this service and Bank of Ireland is the first to offer this facility to business credit card customers in Ireland. Speaking about CardController, Scott Kirkwood, Head of Cards, Bank of Ireland said;
“At Bank of Ireland, we are wholly committed to delivering innovative solutions and we are delighted to be the first bank in the Irish market to offer this very useful service to our business customers.
“Business Credit cards are a flexible, fast option for making payments, managing business cashflow and tracking business spend, however monitoring employee expenditure can be considered an additional workload, preventing some businesses from choosing this route for their staff. In addition to the current option of setting individual controls, CardController gives businesses more peace of mind by putting them in control of where, when and how a business credit card can be utilised and we expect this will be a welcome addition to our current credit card offering.”
Bank of Ireland Business customers will have received their new business credit cards from the 16th May which will enable them to register for the CardController service.
Business credit card customers will now have access to a broad range of benefits including no transaction fees for Euro payments, up to 37 days’ interest-free credit once the account balance is cleared in full each month and comprehensive *travel insurance. With the addition of contactless functionality, business customers can also make faster payments for purchases up to €30.
