Bank of Ireland announces new Finance Director for its UK Financial Services Division

    Bank of Ireland today (Thursday 12 October 2006) announced the appointment of Kieran Coleman to the position of Finance Director, UK Financial Services. His appointment is effective from end 2006.

    Kieran joins from Prudential where he is currently Finance Director for the combined Prudential UK and Europe business. His early career was spent with Arthur Andersen in Dublin where he worked for a number of years across various sectors. This was followed by a move to Prudential in the UK to help launch its new bank and then take over as Financial Controller of Prudential Banking plc in 1997. Following the creation of the Egg brand and flotation of the company in June 2000 Kieran became Director of Finance and Investor Relations and subsequently Chief Financial Officer of Egg plc. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

    According to Des Crowley, Chief Executive, Bank of Ireland UK Financial Services: "Kieran brings an established track record as a senior finance professional and finance leader, operating in UK retail financial services. His appointment strengthens the senior management team and he will play a key role in ensuring that we realise our ambitious plans to substantially grow our market share n the UK".
