Bank of Ireland Global Markets announced today (Thursday 3rd November, 2005) that its Structured Business Team has been awarded the Best in Ireland Award for Innovation and Distribution 2005. The Structured Products awards were announced last night at a gala reception in London. This event was sponsored by Structured Products magazine, the bible for the structured products industry worldwide.
Commenting on Bank of Ireland's success, Paul Lyon, editor of Structured Products said: 'The Structured Products awards have a very simple objective and that is to recognise excellence and innovation. The Best in Ireland award for innovation and distribution is a key award. Bank of Ireland was chosen from a large field of competitors and over the past year we have noted achievements and asked the market for their opinions as to who is the best in the business. In addition to being a savvy structurer, structuring all its own products, Bank of Ireland is also a top class distributor. Combine this with its ongoing commitment to launching innovative products; Bank of Ireland's structured business desk was the clear front runner.'
Accepting the award, Brian Vaughan, Associate Director of the Bank's Structured Business Team, Bank of Ireland Global Markets said: 'We are delighted to accept this award which clearly shows the excellence of our proactive approach to the distribution and development of innovative products. Our team has grown five fold in two years with substantial revenue growth for the same period. Innovation is constant we will continue to push the boundaries and structure innovative products which lead the market.'
