Every year the Bank of Ireland Group encourages and supports a large number of employees to further their education and qualifications through two schemes, namely the Staff Education Awards and Assistance Scheme and the Post-Graduate Scholarship Scheme.
The Staff Education Awards and Assistance Scheme provides support in the form of fee refunds and educational awards to employees who wish to continue their education by studying recognised (approved by Higher Education and Training Awards Council), qualifications at Certificate, Diploma or Degree level.
It is intended to reward the extra effort/work undertaken by employees in studying for academic qualifications relevant to banking e.g. Bachelor of Commerce or Institute of Bankers courses. Other courses may qualify providing that the subjects covered are work related.
All permanent members of staff are entitled to apply for inclusion in the scheme. Applications must be submitted before study commences. In order to effect a refund the individual must have successfully completed examinations or a stage/ level of their course. Many courses carry an award which is payable when the course has been successfully completed.
